successful International Day for Street children

The celebrations for the International Day for street children (DSC) was a successful event. The team together with well wishers marched from Uganda's Constitutional Square through the town of Kampala to Namirembe cathedral. The Archbishop of Uganda, His grace Henry Luke Orombi was the chief walker and he did walk all the way. It was such a long route in regard to the age group of people walking, the congregation was mainly composed of children below the age of 15 years. We had good support from the people met on the streets, the Police gave us full protection and guidance while mantaining order on the streets designated for the walk.

We would like to thank all the staff members and volunteers of Dwelling Places Uganda, Dwelling Places international, the service providers and every one who worked with us to have a successful event.

we say a BIG THANK YOU and may GOD BLESS YOU RICHLY.

Observe the Day for Street Children at home!

As we draw closer to the International Day for Street Children and the hectic schedule of events on 12th April 2013, we think it is important that willing souls be able to contribute no matter where you are. Which is why we have prepared the following toolkits to help you spread the word and observe this day with us:

1. The DSC Toolkit: This package gives you a list of Frequently Asked Questions about our organization, about Street Children and how you can help, in an easy-to-print brochure format. In addition, the kit also includes planning and presentation resources for Coffee Connect meetings and benefit concerts.

2. Additional Resources: This package is meant for participants and hosts for gatherings that bring together people to discuss about street children. With discussion resources, Bible study aids, information on street children and stories to reflect on, this package will go some way to help promote frank discussion and spread awareness.
