16 ways to be a Champion for Dwelling Places
1. Share the website address http://www.DwellingPlaces.org with family and friends.
2. Give out a child sponsor brochure to someone at your church.
3. Sign up for our monthly newsletter and then forward to one friend or post it on your social media platforms each month.
4. Build a small group of people that will offer to pray for Dwelling Places on a regular basis.
5. Write an email about your experience with Dwelling Places and send to friends and family. Share stories about the work in general that Dwelling Places does on behalf of the children in Uganda.
6. Ask to speak at your church on behalf of Dwelling Places. Use the general PowerPoint and a video we have prepared.
We need your help to share about Dwelling Places to gain new supporters, donors and sponsors.
7. Use a program like www.snapfish.com to create a card or other item to send out with an image from Dwelling Places. You could include a short story about your experience with Dwelling Places.
8. Become a 2000 Dweller and commit to donating $10 a month. Tell 10 friends about this program and encourage them to join you.

10. Write a letter to your local newspaper telling them about Dwelling Places and the way we care for street-connected children in Africa. Highlight statistics on street children in Uganda and the work that Dwelling Places does.

How You Can Get Involved with Dwelling Places
You don't have to travel to Uganda to make a difference. Whether you have a few minutes or a few dollars, here are simple, powerful ways to help bring hope to street-connected children:
1. Share Our Website
Invite friends and family to learn about our work by sharing www.DwellingPlaces.org via email, WhatsApp, or social media.
2. Distribute a Brochure
Hand out a Dwelling Places/child sponsorship brochure at your church, workplace, or community center. One brochure could change a child’s life.
3. Forward Our Newsletter
Subscribe to our monthly newsletter—and each month, forward it to a friend or post it on social media.
4. Start a Prayer Circle
Gather a small group of friends to pray regularly for the children, staff, and needs of Dwelling Places. Prayer moves mountains!
5. Share Your Story
Write a heartfelt email or social media post about your experience or what inspires you about Dwelling Places. Share photos, stories, or links.
6. Host a Speaker Opportunity
Ask your church or community group or place of work to allow you (or a team member) to speak about Dwelling Places. We provide a ready-made PowerPoint and video to make it easy.
7. Create and Share Personalized Cards
Use sites like Snapfish to design cards using Dwelling Places photos and stories. Send them for birthdays, thank-you notes, or just because.
Support Financially (Every Little Bit Counts!)
1. Become a $10/ UGX 20,000/₤8 Monthly Partner, join the “2000 Dweller Club”
Join our circle of 2000 Dwellers by giving just $10/month. Then tell 10 friends and invite them to do the same. Together, you create lasting impact.
2. Write to Your Local Paper
Send a letter to the editor about the plight of street-connected children in Uganda and how Dwelling Places is making a difference.
3. Create a Birthday Fundraiser
Ask for donations instead of gifts for your birthday. Use Facebook or a platform like GoFundMe to make it easy.
4. Bake Sale or Craft Fair Table
Sell baked goods, homemade crafts, or art with proceeds going to Dwelling Places. Add an info flyer to every item sold.
Creative Fundraiser Ideas Anyone Can Do
1. Host a “Coffee for a Cause” Morning
Invite friends over for coffee or tea and ask them to donate what they would’ve spent at a café to Dwelling Places.
2. Organize a “Walk for the Street-connected Child”
Gather friends for a sponsored walk in your neighborhood or park. Share stories of the children we serve as you walk.
3. Host a Movie or Documentary Night
Pick a film about social justice or children's welfare, and invite friends over to watch and discuss. Collect donations at the end.
4. Run a Yard Sale or “Declutter for Good” Event
Sell unused items and donate the proceeds. Add signage to tell shoppers about the cause they’re supporting.
5. Donations Box at your place of work
Ask your company, school, shop, market Leadership to allow up place a donations box at the lobby for donation from customers, visitors and partners. Add signage to tell them about the cause they’re supporting.
