Here is what some of our past volunteers have said about their experiences at Dwelling Places:

Getting to become part of the Dwelling Places’ family, getting the opportunity to see children rescued from the streets and go through a period of rehabilitation, were some of my greatest highlights.
— Nathan Rogers, 2015
I am so blessed to be so welcome as a child of God into the family at Dwelling Places. I was blessed too by the love that is being showered on the rescued children.
— Susan Waltner, 2016

Application Process

We understand that the length of time people can commit to volunteering may vary. That's why we offer two options - coming as a visitor (for up to 3 weeks) or as a volunteer (from 3 weeks up to 6 months).  All prospective visitors/ volunteers must apply by submitting a completed Application Form to begin the process.

'Visitors' should complete this application form

'Volunteers' should complete this application form

Dwelling Places aims to match your skills, interests, and availability with field-generated needs and openings. The application gives us insight into your background, interests, and strengths, enabling our staff to generate suitable potential placements. This however is only the first step in the application process, an interview will also take place and there will be certain requirements asked of you prior to acceptance, such as a police and health check.

Both visitors and volunteers are responsible for raising the necessary funds to finance their trip. Dwelling Places personnel will provide a comprehensive budget to assist with your planning.
