There are over 100 million street children ACROSS the world who go to sleep each night with no place to call home. Over 10,000 of these children are found in Uganda.

Children living on the streets are often overlooked and unable to access essential services such as safe shelter, healthcare and education.

this is because they may be undocumented, not registered and have no home address to sign up for these services.

the pandemic has further highlighted these issues for street children.

We call on governments to remove barriers and prioritise street children.

we call on communities and organisations to be advocates and push for change.

#Belonging

Dwelling Places provides children with all the essential services they need. We need your help to reach as many children as we can.

We support International Day for Street Children on 12th April every year run by the Consortium for Street Children. For the last few years the focus of IDSC has been on the Four Steps to Equality. This year we are focusing on belonging and acceptance in the community.

You can sponsor a child or donate to continue breaking the cycle of poverty and get street connected children into a safe home.

We call on governments and organisations to remind them of the UN appointed Rights of the Child in Street Situations. Sign The Consortium for Street Children’s open letter to the UK government below or use the template to write to your own government.

We partner with the Consortium for Street Children (CSC), as one of their network members, to celebrate and promote the International Day for Street Children (IDSC). Marked on the 12th April every year, IDSC celebrates the lives of vulnerable children and recognises the projects they are part of.  This day of advocacy and solidarity is a chance for the millions of street children around the world, and their champions, to speak out so that their voices are heard and their rights cannot be ignored.
