Reignite 2022 - Reignite the Passion to keep Children off the Streets

Dwelling Places Ministry

Rita Nkemba has committed her life to the mission of rescuing street connected children and abandoned babies in Kampala, Uganda, Sub-Saharan Africa. The NGO charity “Dwelling Places” works to ensure that every child has a safe place to call home, and is empowered to reach their full potential. Her mission, to help these needy children and babies within a safe family and community setting, can be summed up in 4Rs:

 Rescue,

 Rehabilitation

 Reconciliation

 Reintegration

For 26 years Rita, a committed Christian, has served the Lord through this ministry. Over the years, more than 2000 children have come through Dwelling Places and there are many success stories to share. At present, 945 children are in the care of Dwelling Places, funded and supported through the faithful giving of partners. “Reignite” Priorities

  • Child Sponsorship – If you would like to invest in the future of a child, the child sponsorship program is in place to ensure education, a safe nurturing home, daily food and medical care. There is the opportunity to support a needy child from £13 per month. Click here

  • The 2000 Dwellers Club – Become one of the 2000 people who can partner with Dwelling Places to assist with overheads, projects, human resources and any other unpredictable needs that inevitably arise with the care of children. An undesignated monthly gift from £5 is suggested. Click here

  • Completion of the Girls Dormitory. We are privileged to have constructed the full structure of the house but still need to build washrooms, plumbing and electrical works. Click here

Opportunities to Meet with and Hear Rita

Rita will be in Northern Ireland- from 14th to 21st October, Scotland - from 22nd October to 4th November and London - from 5th to 10th November. Rita will be sharing success stories and challenges through speaking and singing, to reignite the passion for partners and raise funds for this life-transforming work.
